Uhh
It was flying around in space with wings
Yeah that was the big reveal.
The most interesting thing was how Survival is changing. I dunno, I just find it funny how people are getting so worked up over content that would be basic features in other games (i.e., swimming) and wil likely never be expanded upon like the dogs and melee 2.0. It just reinforces the feeling that we're helping DE learn how to make a game rather than paving the way for an engaing and long-lasting experience like we're lead to believe.

Actually the stream did mention user-generated quests, which sounds kind of cool. I guess it involves making the environments + goals? Players can add their own lore to the quests, and the most popular quests will be canonized (and it takes pressure of DE's shoulders since they're incapable of doing anything in the first place).
Apparently City of Heroes/Villains had a similar system, but I've never played those games.

Mirage + Phage and Castanas is silly
And apparently max strength Eclipse gives you something like 485% damage amp and 95% damage reduction on top of the additional damage your clones do.
Someone start the Quanta research in the Corpus labs so I can shoot swarms of exploding cubes as Mirage

eclipse doesn't affect clones but yea. i only run those 2 atm.
she just doesn't need any specific mods if you don't run prism. i'm not even running energy siphon, just radar. ill start the quanta research
needs circuits and neural sensors. covered the rest. lol
i def want to run energy siphon, but i don't have enemy sense

Started Quanta research
Leveling with the booster from the event was ridiculous. I took a weapon to kappa and went from 0 to 27 in one run. Then I joined another game and somehow gained two levels right upon joining.
Also farming for beacons on Ceres is hell. In fact, I'm sure it's broken, because as of last week, all the Prosecutors are dropping are Delta Beacons (and 2 Omegas).

bc whiners
Meanwhile Boltor Prime/Soma/everything else are still excellent weapons that can clear rooms.
The ammo nerf wouldn't have been so bad if they had kept the launchers to use rifle ammo pickups. But I guess DE actually realized that rifle ammo is plentiful and decided to go the extra mile.

I had an extra Swirling Tiger but I traded it away :/
Single daggers are still poo I hear. Apparently their attack speed is slower than the regular autoattack.
Everyone seems to like Gnashing Parya or however you spell it for dual daggers.

welp, ice mods. ice has all da best things except corrosive. magnetic for corp, viral for grin, blast for every Ancient Disruptor, Ancient Healer, Toxic Ancient and Lephantis. but not phorid , who gets hit hard by cold and rad (elec+heat) so he's still pretty free (apparently this is similar to Elite Lancers, Eviscerators, Bombards, Napalms, Grineer bosses, Corrupted Vor, Corpus Robotic bosses and Stalker. )
looks like i have to make another tysis, if i sold mine. which im sure i did, to run viral/rad on top of innate corrosive and try to get 100% status proc heheh

Cool they finally added the freeze ray WOW they actually BUFFED Vortex If I'm reading the notes correctly, anyway. Midair Miasma cast Sonar using energy color... Not so sure about that. Especially since Silence already uses your energy color. "Added HUD counter for Rhino Stomp to show how much longer you have left on your CC (and how long to wait until re-stomp)." And at one point the UI team said this was "too hard" You guys. At least you're just incompetent and not malicious like some other companies. — I will admit. I think I'm going to miss Survival, as boring and pointless of a game mode as it was. It gave Nekros a purpose outside of bringing him along to farm mods. Hopefully he gets a rework soon. Also yeah Tysis is p neat. I've been playing with it and I can mod it for either Corrosive/Blast (fun because everything gets knocked down half the time), or Rad/Viral/Corrosive for slightly worse CC but extra health debuffs. Multiple statuses can proc at a time from what I've seen, too.

Wait... they're getting rid of survival? If so, I wonder what other modes they can think of to replace it, something more eventful like a raid mission where the objective is to reach a vault with your team and the loot/rarity of the loot will be affected by the level of the map being played.

New game mode is okay. Much less stressful than Survival since life or death isn't determined by RNG (air capsule drops). Instead, killing just makes you get rewards faster.
It's not explained very well, though, and it could be much more streamlined. How it works:
- At the beginning, you run to a Scanner, which is this tower thing sitting out in the opne. The scanner cannot be destroyed. - You have to kill enemies with batteries on their backs, pick up the batteries, and carry them to the scanner. This keeps the scanner powered. As long as it's online, the scanner will find new locations for you to visit. If it runs out of power, the scanning is halted until you find more batteries. Nekros can Desecrate to guarantee a second battery drop, by the way. - Once your scanner picks up a location, your team (hopefully) runs to that location and enters a glowing circle. An Extractor drops out of the sky and will start digging. - The extractor works just like the scanner: power it with batteries until it's done digging, at which point it will poof and give you a mod or credits, along with a set amount of Cryotic that varies by planet. The big difference between the scanner and the extractors is that the extractors have 2500 health and can be destroyed. - You start with four (five maybe?) extractors. If one dies, you can't use it anymore. Meaning that if it dies, you can only spawn one less extractor maximum at a time. I don't think you'll ever have all five running at once. Very risky, and there aren't enough spawn points in one map tile to have all of them there at once anyway. If you do spawn all of them, you'll have to spread your team all over the map, which is bad team play when enemies start getting tougher and you need people to watch your back. If all five extractors get blown up, the mission fails. - The big difference between Survival and Excavation is that there's no time crunch at the end if you want to extract. You can't lose if you have no extractors out, unless by some unfortunate circumstance that everyone uses all of their revives. Which shouldn't happen. So you're free to push your luck as you please. - At the end of the match, you receive a quantity of Cryotic that is worth half the amount of your final score. So if you got 4000 points in a mission, you would get 2000 Cryotic. - There are additional towers called Heat Generators scattered around each map tile. Enemies don't attack these, and you shouldn't either. If you destroy all of them, your shields/health will slowly start taking damage over time until you find a new area with heat generators.
The first mission is on Earth. You're only supposed to get about 1000 points here because each extractor only digs up 100 Cryotic per pop, and by the time you get 1000 points, enemies will be about Lv30-40 or so and your average pubber will probably start dying. The second mission is on Phobos, and the extractors here give 200 a pop. Napalms spawn here so this is probably the hardest map to play on. The third mission is on Europa using the new frozen planet tileset, which admittedly looks pretty cool and has decent music (even if I usually just play my own). Excavators here give 300 a pop, which means this is the easiest and best place to get a max score and lots of Cryotic.
It's not a bad mission type, really. But like everything DE makes, it needs a lot of work. At times the mode can be confusing on where it wants you to go, and oftentimes you'll find yourself trekking alllll the way back to the scanner to power it up, then running alllll the way to a new dig site. And let's not forget pub teammates who run off and do their own thing, activating every single extractor and trying to defend them on their own.
Overall I have more fun with Excavation than I have with Survival, even if it does feel needlessly complicated at times. On the plus side, it gives defensive frames like Frost and Vauban a bit of a boost, since they have an actual objective to defend. Never mind the fact that Vauban Vortex + Loki Radial Disarm is a broken tactic in Survival if you can find a good place to camp.
-
The Tonfa look alright. Nukor looks cool and has a cool effect (single target Molecular Prime), but otherwise seems to be a middling pistol with an odd crit chance/damage gimmick that doesn't work properly because the crit chance is so low. Freeze ray, unfortunately, looks like crap. Bad ammo consumption, has a gigantic ammo pool but picks up the same amount of ammo as other rifles, low status chance, low damage. Fortunately, a lot of people are disappointed and are offering buff suggestions, so maybe we'll see an improvement down the line in about 6 months as usual.
In any case, if you guys start the research, I'll provide the resources.

DE is odd, why remove the current survival completely? Just have multiple survival types and adjust the current one so it's not a piece of shit

Expecting DE to actually know what they're doing?? I thought we were helping them learn how to make a game.

We're not. They just like to say that so they can get away with half-assing their content on a regular basis.

Well they like to say it's an "open beta" so they can get away with half-assing things.
Actually, DE doesn't even say what their game is anymore. They know loyal fans will call it an open beta and do the work for them.
